The Effect of Estradiol-17β and Prostaglandin F2 a on the Serum Prolactin Concentration of the Female Adult Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to determine the effect of estradiol-17? and prostaglandin F2a on the serum prolactin concentration of the female adult rats, after the administrations of estradiol-17? ben.zoate 50mg and prostaglandin F2a 100?g, the serum prolactin concentration was mesured by radioimmunoassay kit.
The serum prolactin concentration of the treated group by these hormones was 18.65±4.71 ng/ml (mean ±S.E.: 9.6 to 37.6ng/ml), whereas that of the nontreated group by these hormones was 5. 25 ± 0. 79ng/ml (mean ±S.E.: 0. 9 to 12.9ng/ml), and there was a significant difference between the two groups (pSo, I. concluded that the serum prolactin level increased significantly by estradiol-17? and prostaglandin F2a, but the mehanism by which the serum prolactin level was elevated remained to be clarified.
